Hi everyone! I have a question about translating PDF documents into English using Translate.com. I recently downloaded some interesting articles in Russian, and I need to translate them. I'm afraid that the translation quality may not be very good, especially if there are some special terms in the texts. Has anyone tried this service? How does it cope with formatting and preserving the meaning? I would be grateful for advice!

Yes, I've recently used https://www.translate.com/services/pdf-translation/english to translate PDF documents, and I have a few observations. Let me start by saying that the translation process itself is pretty simple. You just upload the file, select the language, and it starts working. But, as you suggested, the quality and formatting problem does exist. When I was translating a document, I had trouble with charts and tables. They just “fell apart” after translation, and because of that, some data became completely unreadable. This is important, especially if the document contains key data that needs to be presented in a structured way. I've noticed that when the text is complex and contains a lot of professional terminology, Translate.com sometimes fails to correctly convey the meaning. For example, I had a document with technical descriptions and some terms were translated too verbatim or not at all correctly. This can lead to misunderstandings if the text is, say, for work or study. I would advise approaching this process with caution. It's best to test the platform on a small document first to see how it works specifically with your style and theme. I, for example, tried translating a small text first, and it helped me see which parts needed more tweaking. I also recommend that you do some editing after the automatic translation - this will allow you to correct the most obvious errors and inaccuracies.

Thanks for your tips! I wonder if anyone has experience using other platforms to translate PDF documents? I too want to avoid formatting and translation quality issues. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
