Title: Probing
Tlui sorry to hear of you wifes illness. Welcome back.

I have installed 2019-01-22-106 on V2.1

I have a test program as follows

%
G0 X0 Y0 Z10
M101
G91 G01 Z-50.0 F500.0

M102
G04P0

G90 G92 Z0.0
%

I have a wire connected to the Probe terminal, I have a wire connected to the GND-I terminal
I manually move to X-20 Y40 Z-30

I run test.nc
Beneath the Coordinate display the controller shows
2: G0 X0 Y0 Z10 Whilst the system is making that move and the cordinates are changing
When the coordinate display shows X 0.00 Y 0.00 Z 10.00 the line below the coordinate display shows
3: G91 G0 Z-50.0 F500.0
The controller shows  X0.00 Y0.00 Z10.00 busy and the Z axis does not nothing move

I the past I have tried with different installs and the Z axis has moved down but with no action when the wires are touched.

How do I get "Probe" to work?

I have just checked "probe.nc" this runs and Z moves down but does not respond to touching the wires. The line under the coordinate display shows - synatax check 28...

Is your controller version 1.1 or 2.1? If it is version 1.1, you need to connect PROBE to +12V-l.
Author: edelec    Time: 2019-3-17 07:47
As I said in my post it is V2.1 so NPN input.

If you are using version 2.1, we need to do some checks. You can measure the voltage across R10. If PROBE is disconnected from GND, the voltage should be 0V; otherwise the voltage should be around 3V. If the result of your measurement is not the case, the U8 optocoupler is damaged and needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
That was my first thought and I checked a while ago. Checked again today. With power on and probe not connected to ground the voltage across R6 is 0v with probe terminal taken to ground it is 3.1v. This matches all of the other opto-isolators on the limit inputs. As a comment the only visible mod to the board is a 3.6k resistor between R85 and pin 16 of U22.

Attachment installer, I use the A HOME signal as the PROBE signal, you can try it.

I installed the files and controller now shows as 2019-03-01 106NOR
I did not clear my original settings.
Wires now connected to GND-I and A-Home terminals. Ran the same Test.nc file and it does not recognise the touching of the wires during the move from Z10 to Z-50, it just continues to the end of the Z move where it resets Z to Zero.
Now deleted Uservar and rebooted. Set parameters in Uservar to defaults. Ran Test.nc, does not recognise A-Home terminal taken to ground and released. Motion.out size shows as 1683819 just to show I have loaded the correct install.
Sorry to give you grief, what do you suggest?
I see that others have downloaded the install file. Can someone confirm that Probing using A-Home works for them.

The Motion.out file size is correct.

Can you upload your configuration file (setting, uservar) to the forum?
Author: edelec    Time: 2019-3-18 15:50
Sorry I cannot see how to add an attachment to a reply. However remember I deleted my uservar and rebooted to cretae a new one which I just added drive parameters to so that I could run. Still had the same problem.
I have attached the uservar and test.nc files to a mail to support, I hope you can get it.

Please send the uservar, setting, test.nc file to my mailbox.

I received your email, I used your configuration, and the same problem occurred.
Try it out with the factory configuration.

I deleted the setting and uservar files and booted with this new install. I needed to set a few axis parameters then ran test.nc.
No response on A-Home or Probe terminals. How does this "Factory" configuration differ?
Thanks for your continual support.

We need to first determine the cause of this problem: software or hardware, you first run the probe function with the configuration file I uploaded yesterday, do not modify the configuration, to see if it is correct. If the probe signal can be received correctly, there is no problem on the hardware, and we analyze the software.

My apologies. I assumed that you would want a clean system so deleted my original uservar expecting your install to replace it with default values. In fact the Coordnate display showed "inf".
However I just  re-installed the files and when I run test.nc and ground the A-home terminal the Z move stops and sets 0.0. When I run probe via the controller key Z stops and the display shows Z1.758
Excellent what next?
Author: ytliu    Time: 2019-3-19 15:27
Setting the pulse equivalent to 0 causes the coordinates to be displayed as INF. Please check these parameters.
From the current situation, there is no problem with the controller hardware. You can gradually modify the parameters according to your requirements based on the current parameters, and use test.nc to observe whether the probe function is valid. If you find a problem, please let me know the parameters that cause this problem.

I have always thought that a new install from you does not overwrite the uservar, as I have seen parameters not change with a new install. I therefore assumed that to ensure a full factory reset I should delete my old uservar.
As you say I will rebuild the parameters until I see a problem. Do you want to revert to the "Probe" terminal first with an original motion.out. I assume that the original 106 install will do that.

Author: ytliu    Time: 2019-3-19 16:03
The parameters are stored by two files: setting and uservar, where the 0-499 parameter is stored in the 'setting' file. These two files are included in the attachment on the 12# of this post.
You can revert to the original 106 version and use the probe signal.

So what was the end result of this? Did the probe input magically start working?
I am curious because I have the same problem but with a V1.1 unit. Originally 2016-x-x-73-NOR but now updated to 2019-03-20-107-NOR .
Still no joy (using mode 2). Is there some glitch in the software?
Author: edelec    Time: 2019-4-15 17:50
It was resolved by installing the factory original setting and uservar files. It seems that there was a corruption somewhere in the system which was cleared by overwriting these files. The probe terminal is now recognised.

I got it working - the critical item seems to be #223.
Author: ytliu    Time: 2019-4-21 06:35
Thank you, yes, I checked the program and must set #223 to 1 for the probe function to work.

The attached probe will be probed twice, you can customize it by following the prompts in the file and then install it to the controller.

Good afternoon. I have a DDCSV2.1 controller, installed an alternative firmware from Pandora. In PROBE mode, the Z axis does not stop and continues to move forward. Where can I start solving the problem? What parameters need to be checked?

Hello, I ordered DDCS V3.1, and I have a probe, which is NC. How can I connect it to the controller? Thanks
