Title: I had to downgrade firmware [Print This Page] Author: gjh Time: 2019-4-30 10:34 Title: I had to downgrade firmware In pursuit of getting the probe function to work on my DDSC V1.1, I upgraded the firmware from 2016-x-x-73-NOR (sorry didn't record the full date) to 2019-03-20-107-NOR only to eventually discover that the problem was with parameter #223.
However, with the new firmware installed, system behaviour became very erratic, making a mess of simple carving.
In desperation, I downgraded to the oldest version I could find - 2016-06-10-80-NOR.
Now it's all working and I'm a happy camper once more!
Is there a point where firmware becomes incompatible with V1.1 hardware? Author: ytliu Time: 2019-4-30 12:27
I think they should be compatible.
The system behavior you said is very erratic, and I want to know the specific phenomenon. Is the movement stopped, the display is still, like freezing?Author: gjh Time: 2019-4-30 13:26
The task was to carve some numbers. It seemed to start ok but at a consistent point first the x-axis trips on position error then the y- axis trips.
I don't have the drive faults wired to stop the program, so it carries on, but x and y don't move, of course.
On another job - cut a single slot: it cut the x & y dimension ok but didn't reach proper depth when it finished. At the end when it attempted to return to the work zero (G54), it didn't quite make it - even though the drives did not trip - but there was a terrible noise that, in my experience, is caused by an oscillation due to too high acceleration. I want to know some specific information about your controller, and the programs in the attachment will display them on the screen. thank you.

I didn't see anything different.
What should I be looking for? Author: ytliu Time: 2019-5-1 11:26
This set of numbers.

OK - needed a couple of tries to get it loaded...

I haven't tested operation with this installed. I'm inclined to go back to what I know works.Author: ytliu Time: 2019-5-1 13:28
Thank you, you use the old version first, I will check the reasons for incompatibility.Author: Palavan Time: 2019-6-3 20:10
Hi everyone, I had a problem. During cutting, the controller periodically freezes, makes a long sound and everything goes dead.
what could be the problem? Author: gjh Time: 2019-6-7 09:41
Hi Ytliu,
Did you get any useful information from the set of numbers produced in #7? Author: ytliu Time: 2019-6-7 15:40
Hi gjh,
I did a survey on fb about whether the system is stable after the upgrade, https://www.facebook.com/groups/ ... k/2817905121559974/,
I did not see information similar to you, you can upgrade the latest firmware, try again.Author: yaddatrance Time: 2019-6-8 08:04
Palavan, It might be the voltage to the controller is too close to threshhold, I had this same problem using a laptop brick at 18V 4A, when I moved to a 24V 2A power supply the problem went away.
